Connie DiCocco, M.Ed. Executive Director
Ms. DiCocco joined SMH in 2002 and was appointed executive director in 2008. She has responsibility for the strategic direction of the organization, as well as daily oversight of all management, financial, and operations activities. Prior to joining SMH, Ms. DiCocco worked for Ceridian Lifeworks Services as the director of seminars and training. Previous to that she held the position of director of HIV/AIDS education for the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay, as well as positions in secondary and higher education. She has a Masters in Education - Counseling.
Katherine Cruise, Director of Marketing and Communications
Ms. Cruise leads the development of SMH's communications and marketing strategies, overseeing public relations, advertising, and branding. Prior to joining SMH, she was the public relations and marketing manager at John Snow, Inc. (JSI), an international healthcare research and consulting firm. Ms. Cruise received her undergraduate degree in Public Policy and Television, Radio, Film Production from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School and S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree from Harvard Extension School.
Candice Porter, LICSW, Director of External Relations
As director of external relations, Ms. Porter is responsible for expanding the organization’s presence on a national level. She works to cultivate new partnerships for each of SMH’s screening programs as well as sustains relationships with existing partners. Before transitioning to her current role, Ms. Porter was the youth programs manager at SMH. She is a licensed independent clinical social worker with more than ten years of experience working in public and private settings. Prior to joining SMH, Ms. Porter worked for Devereux Foundation as a therapist.
