As we enter the final month of the academic year, we would like to share with
you exciting results from the 2005-2006 CollegeResponse Program. With more
college campuses screening for depression, anxiety, eating disorders and
alcohol problems through CollegeResponse than ever before, we are pleased to
report that over 140,000 students completed a free screening either online or
through an in-person event during the 2005-2006 program year. We expect this
number to climb even higher as colleges that participated in National Alcohol
Screening Day, held on April 6th, continue to submit event results. We hope
that you are as proud as we are of these achievements and that you will
continue in these inspiring efforts to raise awareness and reach out to your
students. Please see below for highlights of this year’s program:
National Depression Screening Day (NDSD)- October 6, 2005

611 colleges and universities registered for NDSD this academic year – our
largest number to date.

An estimated 27,350 students were screened at NDSD in-person events throughout
the country.

54,180 students have participated in the NDSD online screening program thus far
this academic year.

77% of these students scored positive for symptoms consistent with depression.
National Eating Disorders Screening Program (NEDSP)
February 26- March 4, 2006

412 sites registered for NEDSP this academic year – again our largest
registration ever for this program.

An estimated 15,500 students were screened at in-person NEDSP program events
-
17,903 students have participated in the NEDSP online screening program this
academic year (increased from last year).

62% of these students scored positive for symptoms consistent with having an
eating disorder.
National Alcohol Screening Day (NASD) – April 6, 2006
-
540 sites registered for NASD 2006.
-
In-screening numbers have yet to be determined for this year’s program.
-
13,580 students participated in the NASD online screening program thus far this
academic year.
-
60% of these students scored positive for symptoms consistent with drinking at
levels considered either hazardous/harmful or alcohol-dependent.
