Webinar – SAFE-T
September 8, 2010
1 p.m. (EDT)

Managing suicide risk is one the toughest aspects of the job for mental health professionals. Clients—from adolescents to seniors—exhibit different warning signs, varying risk factors and rationale. Suicide assessments are conducted at first contact with a client, making proper suicide assessment, evaluation and triage a critical piece of client care.

Dr. Douglas G. Jacobs, M.D., is a psychiatrist, author and nationally known expert on depression and suicide. He is an associate professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and founder and CEO of Screening for Mental Health, Inc., a national non-profit dedicated to providing the public with mental health education, screening and treatment resources. For more than 40 years, Dr. Jacobs has devoted his career to the study, treatment and education around suicide.

Dr. Jacobs will host a webinar on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 1 p.m. (EDT) for all registered NDSD sites. His topic will be “Suicide Assessment Five-Step Evaluation and Triage for Mental Health Professionals.”
