HAPPY HOLIDAYS
  from National Alcohol Screening Day!

Results are inNASD 2002!

Congratulations to the over 2,800 NASD sites across the country this year you reached out to over 88,000 people and screened almost 45,000 individuals! Whats more, almost 12,000 people you screened had scores that indicated harmful or hazardous drinking; you were there to inform them on how alcohol is affecting their health, and refer them for treatment if necessary.

NASD 2001: 1274 sites and almost 20,000 screened
NASD 2002: 2863 sites and almost 45,000 screened

Weve more than doubled the number of sites this year, with a 125% increase over 2001! Thank you NASD 2002 sites for reaching out to your communities and connecting people in need with treatment!

NASD 2002: Site Success Story

I attended the Seattle training and found it really helpful! The training kept me informed about issues in the alcohol field, and helped me start planning my NASD event. I took this information back to my staff and we are incorporating it into our promotion efforts for this years program using the theme Alcohol and Health: Where Do You Draw the Line. This theme is so important, especially since people today are receiving many mixed messages about alcohol and its effect on their health.
