Hispanic Outreach

National Depression Screening Day provides registered sites that want to do Spanish language screenings with educational and screening materials in Spanish. Currently, available supplementary materials include:

  • an educational lecture with a specific introduction on depression in Hispanic communities
  • Spanish brochures and flyers

One copy of the Spanish questionnaire is already included in all the regular kits.

These materials are available only to facilities participating in National Depression Screening Day and are limited in quantity. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

It is hoped that new Spanish materials will be produced in the future. Key needs are new educational brochures and a Spanish language video. Anyone interested in supporting the development of these materials should contact SMH office at One Washington Street, Suite 304, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481-1706.

National Depression Screening Day (NDSD) is October 10, 2002.
