Conduct Screenings: Continuing Education/Training

Continuing education credits are available as part of NASD for physicians, social workers, psychologists and nurses.

Target Audience: Physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, and physician assistants. Includes: Clinicians, administrators, health care professionals and staff affiliated with colleges, mental health centers, health clinics, social service agencies, advocacy, faith-based and prevention groups.

Objectives:
By reading the “Enhancing Motivation for Change in Substance Abuse Treatment” SAMHSA publication on the CD-ROM, participants will learn:

  • Ways to develop therapeutic relationships with clients that foster the change process
  • Techniques for conducting different motivational interventions that can be used at all states of change
  • Research practices on models of change
