Tip of
the Month: Inform the Public About Your Event through the Site
Locator Services
- If you are inviting members of the public to your screening, make
sure it is listed on the Site Locator Services to generate interest and
increase attendance at your event.
- Verify
your screening site details (date, time, location) and call the NASD
office at 1-800-253-7658 or email
us with any changes.
- NEW Spanish Site Locator Services are now
available!
Please contact us if you are interested in being
listed on this Spanish language version of the Site Locator. NOTE: Your
staff must be prepared to handle phone calls and inquiries from
individuals who only speak Spanish.
$300 Gift
Certificates will be awarded for the top 5 College and top 5 Community
sites that screen the highest number of participants in NASD 2003. Start
planning and publicizing your event now to generate interest in your
community! More details will follow next month.
CEUs now available! Earn Continuing
Education Credits (CEUs) by registering for the Primary/Specialty
Care kit. You will need to read the required materials in the kit,
implement an NASD event, complete a post-test and summary form, and mail
them to the NASD office to receive your CEUs. CEUs are available for
physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors and
psychologists.
If you have already registered for NASD, call or email
us to update your registration. If you have not yet registered, register
now!
Note: There is a $20 processing fee for the Continuing
Education certificate.
Preparing for Your Screening
Day By now many sites have registered for NASD 2003. We encourage all
sites to register as early as possible to ensure a successful event. If
you havent already done so, register
now!
Important Planning Steps
- Read the Event Manual Manuals have been shipped to sites
that ordered the College or Community kits. (If you dont receive your
manual by March 15th, please call the NASD office at 1-800-253-7658.)
- Review the Kit Materials College kits will be sent out
beginning the first week in March, and the others will follow. Please
note that if you ordered multiple kits they will not be shipped at
the same time and will arrive separately.
- Train Your Staff Familiarize both clinical and
administrative staff with the screening tool. Prepare those that answer
the phones to answer questions regarding your event. Determine
individual roles and responsibilities.
