Tip of the Month:
Inform the Public About Your Event through the
Site Locator Services
  • If you are inviting members of the public to your screening, make sure it is listed on the Site Locator Services to generate interest and increase attendance at your event.
  • Verify your screening site details (date, time, location) and call the NASD office at 1-800-253-7658 or email us with any changes.
  • NEW Spanish Site Locator Services are now available!
    Please contact us if you are interested in being listed on this Spanish language version of the Site Locator. NOTE: Your staff must be prepared to handle phone calls and inquiries from individuals who only speak Spanish.
NEW! $300 Gift Certificates will be awarded for the top 5 College and top 5 Community sites that screen the highest number of participants in NASD 2003. Start planning and publicizing your event now to generate interest in your community! More details will follow next month.


CEUs now available!
Earn Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) by registering for the Primary/Specialty Care kit. You will need to read the required materials in the kit, implement an NASD event, complete a post-test and summary form, and mail them to the NASD office to receive your CEUs. CEUs are available for physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors and psychologists.

If you have already registered for NASD, call or email us to update your registration. If you have not yet registered, register now!

Note: There is a $20 processing fee for the Continuing Education certificate.



Preparing for Your Screening Day
By now many sites have registered for NASD 2003. We encourage all sites to register as early as possible to ensure a successful event. If you haven�t already done so, register now!


Important Planning Steps
  • Read the Event Manual � Manuals have been shipped to sites that ordered the College or Community kits. (If you don�t receive your manual by March 15th, please call the NASD office at 1-800-253-7658.)
  • Review the Kit Materials � College kits will be sent out beginning the first week in March, and the others will follow. Please note that if you ordered multiple kits they will not be shipped at the same time and will arrive separately.
  • Train Your Staff � Familiarize both clinical and administrative staff with the screening tool. Prepare those that answer the phones to answer questions regarding your event. Determine individual roles and responsibilities.
