“I’m a fulltime student at Rutgers studying marketing and finance. I’m the president of the veterans group here. When I got to the school there were no programs focused on veteran’s transition. Almost no work was going on to help veterans, no one had a clue,” said Bryan Adams college student, Iraq veteran and member of Active Minds.
Like Bryan, thousands of veterans are taking advantage of the Post-9-11 GI Bill and enrolling in college. But for many veterans, the transition from combat to the classroom can be difficult. As a valued member of the college community, we encourage you to listen in on how Bryan gave his university an education in what it means to be a veteran and the changes that came because of his efforts.
Even if your college or university only has one veteran student, this is a presentation you won’t want to miss.
