On-line screening for college students
Screening through your college’s health center

Screening for Mental Health, Inc. has developed a new comprehensive program designed specifically for colleges.

Colleges can register for any or all of the screening programs:

ØDepression Screening and Suicide Prevention,

Ø
Alcohol Education and Screening, and

Ø Eating Disorders Education and Screening.

The use of this initiative is widespread, allowing colleges to register in the spring and screen students throughout the academic year. Colleges can also use these programs as part of freshman orientation, residence life training, Greek life events, health fairs and national screening days.

In addition to the set screening day, colleges have to opportunity to offer screening year round through on-line and health center screening:

Ø ONLINE: Each program now includes on-line screening. Offer year-round, online screening to your students via a secure, password-protected website. The online screening site can be customized for your school with a welcome message, referral information and a link to the counseling or health center. (For information about a discounted online screening targeting college employees, click here)

Ø HEALTH CENTERS: Incorporate depression and eating disorders screening into your health center intake: Helps identify students who may be reluctant to discuss their symptoms with a clinician. Easy-to-use screening forms that can be completed by students while waiting to be seen by a general medical clinician or specialist. Clinician receives scored form with patient’s record. Alerts clinician if mental health issues should be discussed.
