In the United States, as many as 10 million females and 1 million males are fighting a life and death battle with an eating disorder, and 95% of those are between the ages of 12 and 25.

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week will be held from February 22-28. During this week, hundreds of colleges across the country will be using the National Eating Disorders Screening Program® (NEDSP) to raise awareness and promote healthy eating on campus. Register today for NEDSP and help cultivate healthy attitudes about eating, body image and help-seeking on your college campus.

NEDSP 2009 will provide:

  • Educational materials promoting a healthy lifestyle and positive body image
  • Access to downloadable event planning and promotional materials
  • A free web/audio training on prevention and treatment
  • Facebook advertising to boost student online screening utilization for colleges that register for the year-round online program. The ad will appear on a students’ Facebook page and will link directly to their school’s online screening. In 2008, the Facebook ad was a huge success, bringing a 239% increase in the number of students screened for eating disorders.
