The Walk to Washington – www.walktowashington.org
— is a national pep rally to raise awareness of depression and to show anyone
trying to overcome depression that they are not alone and that there is help
available.
The Walk, which begins August 14, 2010, is a 50-day cross-country trek spanning
850-miles from St. Louis, MO to Washington, DC and features 24 rally cities
along the way. The final rally will be held in Washington, DC. on National
Depression Screening Day, October 7, 2010.
NDSD Community is the nation’s oldest voluntary, community-based screening
program that gives access to a validated depression screening questionnaire and
provides referral information for treatment. If you are a community-based
organization located in or near one of the 25 rally cities and may be
interested in participating in NDSD Community and serving as screening site
