Screening

- Of those
that score positive, 96% score in the harmful/hazardous or harmful/dependence
range
- Of those
who score harmful and above, 95.4% are not in alcohol treatment at the
time of the call
- 94% of
callers say the program is at least a little useful
- 81% of
callers are employees (the remaining callers are family members and
retirees)
- Among
male callers, 72% score positive for an alcohol problem. Of those males
that score positive, 98% score in the harmful or above range.
- Among
female callers, 61% score positive for an alcohol problem. Of those
females that score positive, 93% score in the harmful or above range.
These results
indicate that the program is reaching its intended audience of individuals
with untreated alcohol problems in the workplace. The screening identifies
those individuals who may have a serious problem with alcohol and most
in need of treatment.
