National Eating Disorders Screening Program:
EatingDisorderHope.com: “What You Need to Know About
Eating Disorders” Teleseminar
Order the downloadable MP3 file of a comprehensive seminar
that includes five one-hour presentations by international authorities covering
the essentials of understanding, recognizing, and managing eating
disorders. Topics include: family strategies, mind/body relationships,
nutritional approaches, psychotherapy, and coaching in regards to eating

The Body Positive’s “Alterations”
The Body Positive, a non-profit eating disorders prevention
organization, commissioned artist Birgit Gehrt to create “Alterations,” an art
installation that explores the relationship between clothing and fashion and
body image issues. The project consists of 15 clothing and accessories items
transformed into sculptural garments, where each piece relates a story about
identity, body image, and self esteem in contemporary culture. “Alterations”
is available to travel to college campuses year-round in order to provide a
focal point from which workshops and discussion groups can be organized. For

Insides OUT! (applicable to
both eating disorders and alcohol/substance issues)
Insides OUT! is the emotionally charged and hilarious story of
one young person through her high school and college years and her introduction
to the working world. Abuse of alcohol, drugs, food, and sex mark a journey
into and ultimately out of self-loathing. The performance seeks to depict the
lifelong struggle for integration of the many aspects of the self, and peace of
mind. Inside OUT!
has been performed for various
organizations and colleges throughout the country.
