Conduct Screenings

In-person screening
Allows college health and counseling centers, professors, student groups, athletic teams and Greek organizations to screen students. Similar to the community program, most events are organized like a booth at a health fair with brochures, screening forms, and giveaway items available at a table. People are generally milling around asking questions, viewing the video, completing the screening questionnaire and getting general information. Banners, posters, balloons and food should be available to make the event more inviting. Colleges are responsible for providing the clinicians and administrative staff, securing the physical location for the event, and promoting and implementing the program.

Also included are suicide prevention educational materials that show students how to help a friend who may be depressed or potentially suicidal.

If you are interested in screening only students at your college or university, register for the NDSD College Program. If you are interested in screening both students and members of your community, register for the college kit and call the NDSD office for supplemental materials for the general community population.

College Response Online Year-Round Screening
Offers students a year-round venue to explore and identify symptoms of mood and anxiety disorders and to seek timely and appropriate help from their counseling and health services centers. The anonymous screenings provide immediate feedback and a customized referral directing students to the appropriate college resources. College/university personnel get detailed utilization reports and graphs. Available only in conjunction with an in-person screening event package.
