National Depression Screening Day 2007…
-
Helps educate the public about the signs of suicide and effective ways to
respond to someone at risk
-
Provides mental health screenings and educational materials about common mental
health problems
-
Provides materials for clinicians to assess suicidality and treat mental health
problems
This year, NDSD will feature new educational materials that will help
empower members of the public to recognize and respond to the warning signs of
suicide in a friend or a loved one. The STOP A SUICIDE TODAY! campaign
highlights the importance of identifying and treating depression and other

National Depression Screening Day® (NDSD) began seventeen years ago
as the first nationwide, community-based mental health screening program. Today
it is the largest provider of mental health screening services in the country
through its partnership with thousands of community-based, college and primary
care screening sites. NDSD offers both in-person and online screening for four
of the most common and frequently co-occurring mental disorders: depression,
bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress
disorder.
